David Howell, author of The Descent into Happiness: A Bicycling Journey over the Cascades and Rockies and across the Great Plains and The Serenity Experiment: Searching for Personal Peace in a World That Won’t Slow Down, both published by Blue Ear Books, is a Professor in the Humanities Department at the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
He teaches courses in creative thinking, ethics, composition, and research methods. He received an M.F.A. in poetry from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks and an individual interdisciplinary Ph.D. from Washington State University. When he’s not teaching, reading or writing, he’s riding one of his bikes.
David lives in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin with his wife, dog, and cats.
